For this week's serial communication, I decided to give connecting to Wifi a go. This ended up being a wild goose chase,
where I made a lot of PCBs that didn't work.
The first PCB was based on the one frm the class site with some modifictions,
modifications that ended up being ridiculus because there was a short and a bunch of
the resistors where not even connected to anything, so I was back to the drawing board.
The second set was a bit more logical, I had removed the volatage regulator because I moved it
to the main PCB. However, where the previous PCB at least brought power to the ESP8266-01,
this one could not accomplish even that.
By this point I was drowning in a non-functional PCB graveyard.
Finally, in rage and dispair I decided to just make the eample board from the website... maybe
there is something I am missing. However, after having made the PCB I could not for the life of me figure out what 2 of the 6
out pins were meant to be connecting to, so I ran out of time before I got the chance to try it out.
