Wildcard Week

Artificial muscles

For wildcard week, I decided to go to Jack's section and do something involving the LCE fiber that shrinks when exposed to heat. Since I like crochet, I wanted to try and crochet something with some of the fiber.

Crochet Octopus

First I crochet a small octopus with some of my yarn and using my crochet hook.

Adding the LCE fiber

To make it seem like the octopus is alive and moving, I crochet some of the LCE fiber at the bottom of its legs.

Final result

Look at the octopus move!! In the video, I'm using a heat gun to heat up the legs, and you can see them shrink as I pass over them with the heat gun.
