What is the goal?

To demonstrate the possibility of making passive electronic components (i.e., capacitors and inductors) from interlocking discrete parts.

To accomplish this, what question(s) will you answer?

• How do you create pure electronic components out of a small set (e.g., two) discrete parts?

• For a given unit volume (e.g., 5mm^2 for SOIC pitch) what is the max/min capacitance, inductance, and resistance?

What technique(s) will you use to answer them?

• Experimental investigations/illustrations

• Theoretical simulation of possibilities at smaller scales

What is the prior art?

• Purity of electronic compenent (e.g., how little resistance and inductance can a discretely assembled capacitor have?)
