Molding and Casting

Inspiration:

I wanted to design a mold that I could cast and slice like cookies or Murrine glass but would be a unique shape. Using the sheep as inspiration I designed a tessellation pattern. Starting in the computer I determined I could determine the shape better by hand. After a few revisions I landed on an interlacing sheep pattern.

I digitized the single tessellation piece in Illustrator and created the repeat pattern.

Sketch | Fusion 360:

Using the dimensions of the wax and the available end mills I learned slicing may not be ideal based on the limitation in depth. I added features to the sheep design because I can cast multiples instead of relying on slicing to make multiples.
