Despite my background in Economics and Business, I’ve been always passionate about design and tried to learn more about it by myself. While in college, I started a studio and ended up working there for almost 4 years, creating branding and graphic design projects.I also love product design, especially when it is focused on customizable or modular products that solve multiple needs for different people.
My main goal at MIT was to explore and expand my range of knowledge, especially outside of business. Since the first semester, I’ve been working at the Hobby Shop to practice more manual work and learn various techniques. HTMAA is the course that best represents what I was looking for when I came here and I'm excited about learning more about digital fabrication and develop new skills.
These are same random projects I have been doing to learn how to use some software and different techniques:
• Buraco: Visual identity and brand concept created for a bar in São Paulo.
• Office Cabinet: One of my first woodworking projects, based on OpenDesk design and made with a Shopbot CNC machine.
• Lugagge Tag: Personalized wooden tag, made with laser cutter. This is a gift I make for my friends who visit MIT campus.
