CAD IDEATION
This week we had to work on the digital model for a potential final project.

Idea
I only worked on the CAD model after my final project seemed concrete. Until then I mostly resorted to sketching on paper. The model I made for my final project is based on the following.
CAD Model
I based my model on the sketch I made. It was inspired by the frame we made for the machine building week. It has three main components: the frame, the mount, and the watering can.
The frame below, was made during the wildcard week. Though generally stable, I saw room for improvement and added some end caps as well as a cross-shaped support for the frame's intersection to slide into.
Servo Mount
For the servo mount, I downloaded a CAD model of the motor and designed the form around it for a snug fit. Even so, I made holes for bolting the mount to the frame just in case it needs to be tighter. The assembly method would just be sliding it onto the frame. The design for this went through a couple iterations to be able to accomodate my developing PCBs.
Watering Can
One side of the can needed to be be flat to allow an easy connection with the frame. Using the other side, I wanted to somehow emulate the aesthetic to vines/water, so I tried adding curves to the can's body. Additionally, since it would have to pour water on a plant which would be placed off-center, I had to make the spout twist around the side, which adds to the intended effect. I depended on the "SweepRail2" and "Pipe" commands for the following results.
