My name is Se Hwan, and I'm a fourth-year PhD student in Sangbae Kim's Biomimetic Robotics Lab at MIT.
I was born in Seoul, South Korea, but I moved to Singapore when I was young, and lived there until 2016.
My undergrad was in mechanical engineering at the University of Notre Dame, and I graduated in 2020.
I joined MIT that same year in the MechE department.
My research focuses on developing new robotic systems that can be used in the real world.
I'm particularly interested in legged robots, and I'm currently working on developing controllers
for legged robots with optimal control and reinforcement learning.
I'm taking this class because I want to learn more about the fabrication process, and I'm excited to
learn how to make things with my own hands. I'm also interested in learning more about the electronics
side of robotics, and I think this class will be a great opportunity to do so.
