I knew what I wanted to vinyl cut almost immediately after we were assigned this task (a refreshing change from Week 1).
I am a member of the MIT Logarhythms, MIT's oldest a cappella group. I am currently the President, and I thought to myself, what better way to show my patriotism (Logs-riotism?) than to vinyl cut our logo? Here's a picture of it, affectionately called the "bam":
Some Adobe Photoshop work made it vinylcut-able:
I watched Neil's program get my image ready to go:
And it looked good to go on the first try, which made me very happy! I then carefully applied it to the transfer paper and peeled off the excess:
Finally, I peeled off the log in the center and reapplied the backing so the bam was ready to be stuck wherever I pleased! I'm still trying to figure out where to put it...

Thoughts, Lessons, and Takeaways:
I had never used a vinyl cutter before, and this was a very interesting experience. I had some issues at first with the initial cut (unfortunately I don't have pictures - I'm getting better at documenting as I go!) but Anthony stepped in and helped me set up the new roll of vinyl to be cut effectively. Overall, I definitely see myself using this again, perhaps to create some decals for my final project... we'll have to see. I very much enjoyed this assignment and am excited to garnish a wall with the logo of my a cappella group!
