TLDR: I’m a MIT Sloan student with a background in industrial design and strategy consulting.
More detail about me: I grew up in Enterprise, Alabama and attended Auburn University, majoring in Industrial Design. While in school, I interned at Henkel, Summer Classics, and Mattel. After graduating in 2018, I joined Wildkin, a small Amazon seller where I designed kid's gear and furniture. Being the only designer on the team, my role eventually expanded to marketing and procurement.
After some reflecting (and a bit of a quarterlife crisis), I decided to pivot my career to general business. I joined the McKinsey Atlanta office in spring of 2021 as a business analyst in their operations practice. McKinsey was, of course, baptism by fire, but I see those years there are formative for my work ethic and problem solving.
Now I'm attending business school at MIT as a sponsored consultant with plans to return to McKinsey after school.
I decided to take this class to revisit my roots as a designer and maker and explore bigger possibilities for my career.
Happy making! :)
