JESS A. RIVERA
BIO
Jessica Adriana Rivera is a gender variant/non-conforming interdisciplinary artist and designer from Los Angeles, California. Through her work, she delves into themes of environmental injustice, societal constructs, connections, and anomalies, challenging conventional desires and needs in relation to culture, science, and technology. Rivera’s artistic exploration reflects on the experience of living in the shadows of America, addressing issues of racial and gender inequality, intergenerational trauma, and sexual violence. Rivera’s works have been showcased at esteemed venues such as the Experimental Digital Arts Gallery at the Broad Art Center, The New Wight Gallery, The Art | Sci Center at The California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI), CREA: Contemporary Art Gallery in Venice, Italy, and The Basilica di San Marco in Venice, Italy, as part of MiRNArte: Public Art & Metaverse exhibition.
EDUCATION
Rivera is currently pursuing a Master in Design Studies (MDes) at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design.
She holds degrees in Communication Arts, Humanities, Studio Arts, and a Bachelor of Arts in Design | Media Arts from the School of Arts & Architecture,
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
