Vera van de Seyp
Hi! I am a computational designer and educator. In my work, I explore generative design tools, computational typography, artificial intelligence, and the interplay of automation and craft in design. I also teach workshops and give lectures and hope to motivate people to code and make their own design tools.

Currently, I am part of MIT Media Lab in the Future Sketches group. I am developing AI-powered type design tools for my MSc thesis project.

pix2knit is a machine that allows users to convert digital images into self-patterned yarn. It uses a special algorithm to analyze the colors and details of an image and generates a patterned thread that can be used to recreate the image when knitting with a knitting machine. The generated yarn pattern is based on instructions for the type of yarn and the size of the fabric, allowing users to create detailed designs in one go.
