Input: Ambient voltage / step response?
Output: 10 LED meter
Thanks to the breadboard, I was able to stumble upon an interesting form of input by chance. While deconstructing my live circuit - not usually the best idea - I noticed that the circuit was still measuring the analog input after I removed the potentiometer. The potentiometer was simply providing a linear resistance variable within a given range (10k), but without the resistor the lead was still measuring input voltage from the environment. What was interesting was that simply by touching, or even coming close to or tapping near the lead would incite a reading - so I can't say for sure that it was only a measure of voltage, or if the circuit was detecting another force.
Having an unknown input, but clearly reactive output was exciting. The mystery factor made the hardware seem more organic and alive. In the future it would be fun and interesting to design systems that are open to certain kinds of interference that would introduce that last unknown variable that brings them to life. #finalprojectthoughts
