Hi everyone, my name is Lancelot Blanchard and I am an AI researcher, engineer and musician. I love music and musical instruments and I am very curious to explore the multiple assignments of How to Make this year to build a lot of new ways to enable creative musical expression. I am currently a Master's student in the Responsive Environments research group of the MIT Media Lab. In my research, I work with artists and try to create new musical interfaces that embed modern technology, including AI. You can find my recent projects on my portfolio.

Before joining the Media Lab, I studied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Imperial College in London, which means that my background is in software and algorithms. I have no background at all in hardware and fabrication, but I hope to learn a lot through this class and experience.
