# Meet Goon

This is Goon, my pet mouse.

A close-up of Goon

In his free time, Goon likes to run on his saucer wheel, eat treats, escape his cage, and shit everywhere. Unfortunately for me, he often does these activities in those order. Goon and I also frequently have conversations! Things we discuss:

  1. How cute he is
  2. How much of a cute little guy he is
  3. How small he is
  4. What he’s eating
  5. How cute he is when he eats
  6. How he keeps escaping his cage
  7. Re-establishing what a cute little mouse he is

# Vinyl Cutting

This week, I made a sticker for Goon’s cage. I vinyl cut a mouse sticker and applied it to the outside of his glass tank. Image to come!

# Laser Cutting

The goal was to laser cut a reconfigurable cardboard press fit maze for Goon. I started by modeling a singular wall panel and a maze base that would attach via finger joints:

A first go at the maze

I used Fusion360 and modeled parametrically, defining variables for the length and width of a cell, the kerf of the laser, the wall height, and the width of the finger joint. The fit was quite loose, so I tinkered with the kerf and a fixed offset to the finger joints before retiring for the night.
