My name is Shelby Elizabeth Doyle, I am a Master of Architecture student at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) in my final year. I met Neil and the Fab Lab team this summer at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts - which is how I became aware of How to Make (Almost) Anything.

This semester I am researching for my thesis which has something to do with resilience, craft, agency, disaster, and architecture. Research blog here.

My fabrication work at the GSD focused on: slip-casting, variable mold ceramic casting, and 3D printing fabrics. I received my BS in Architecture from the University of Virginia - where the fabrication meant analog modes of production such as hand drafting and model making. Combining these methods is a reoccuring theme in my work; I am fascinated by both low-tech and hi-tech craft and their potential design applications.
