How to Make Almost Anything

My journey through the MIT course

Week 3: 3D Scanning and Printing

Assignment: Design and 3D print an object (small, few cm3, limited by printer time) that could not be made subtractively

3D printing an in-place check valve that does not use a separate part

I needed a check valve for my final project's irrigation system to prevent back flow into the pump. i found this 3d printed in-place check valve here from an awesome creator and youtuber called sunshine. I printed the valve on a prusa mk4 unsuccessfully. the resolution of the print was too low. i tried printing it with the startasys which came out much better. but still unsuccessful; the bottom of the valve adhered too much to the print bed which cause the inner part of valves to be too stuck to the outer part. At this point, I decided that amount of time I have spent on check valves is no longer worth it and just bought some from amazon. Strata Check Valve with Supports
