How we got to where we are

Idea Formation & Planning

After two long brainstorming sessions and a heated debate over a bubble machine (which, sadly, did not make the cut)...

Neil enclosed in a huge bubble.

We finally settled on our project...

PHOTOBLEACH!!!

  • Inspired by Zak's enthusiasm for bleach (bleach carpet machine, bleach CNC)
  • We have decided to make a machine that draws bleach patterns on clothes!
  • In particular, we are interested in taking a photo of Neil and created bleached Neil-T-shirts for our section (or the entire class).

Once we decided (and Claire brought us motivation cookies), the room got filled with energy.

Everyone started discussing to-dos and sorting themselves into task forces based on skillset.

Brainstorm (Thursday)

The most important system to figure our first, we determined, was CoreXY

We prioritized CoreXY/Pump mechanics and control for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday...

Brainstorm (Thursday)

To simplify the documentation, we decided to use Google Docs initially and transfer the texts and assets to Gitlab later.

Hint: Don't do that...

  • Soon it will be Tuesday and your repo will be a ghost town

  • Have someone set up a repo folder structure, subdivided by teams

  • Provide templates for teams to follow

That said, Google Drive can be useful for real-time sharing of large files or storing large media for later use.

Props to Catherine for thinking ahead and setting up a Google Drive to share photos, files, and assets.

Alright, we've got a plan... LET'S GO!!!
