This week we were focused on cutting, both on the vinyl cutter and the laser cutter (alongside the creation of this site).
The group assignement this week required us to test out the laser cutter and see what configurations and setting work best with it. We worked together to attempt to figure this out.
Although to cut different line weights I generally just hide the extrenuous lines and cut multiple times, the team wanted to try out the color-based settings which took quite some time.

laser cutting /individual assignment/
For the individual portion of the laser cutting assignemnt of making a friction fit construction kit, I decided to
make simple pieces that would be able to reconfigurable in various ways. Settling on the arc form I made to main components
- the arc and the joint.
The image above is the parametric grasshopper script I used to design the file for lasercutting.

vinyl /individual assignment/
For the vinyl cutting, I decided to make a decoration for my iPad. I did my best to design it around the various elements on my iPad's
case (such as the side panels) as well as the camera and the apple. the process was pretty straightforward however it was a big challange
to transfer the many pieces to the back of the device.
