Overview
Week 1 focused on understanding the course structure, and beginning to think about final project ideas.
Final Project Sketch
Objective: Create a low-cost and accessible wearable glove integrating hand tracking, tactile sensing, and haptic feedback for enhanced HCI and robotics applications.
Key Components:
- Sensors: IMU sensors (accelerometer/gyroscope) on fingertips and joints, flex sensors along fingers
- Haptics: Vibrotactile actuators and micro servo motors for force feedback
- Processing: Arduino/ESP32 microcontroller with wireless communication
- Base: Flexible textile glove with flexible PCB integration
Development Phases:
- Weeks 1-3: Design PCB layout, test individual sensors
- Weeks 4-6: 3D print custom housings, integrate electronics
- Weeks 7-9: Develop software stack (gesture recognition algorithms)
- Weeks 10-12: Assemble prototype, calibration, and user testing

Final Project Model
3D conceptual model showing the integration of sensors, actuators, and electronics within the glove structure.
