About Me

Hello world! My name is Patricia Stathatou.

I’m a visiting scholar at the MIT Center for Bits and Atoms, conducting postdoctoral research after winning the Bodossaki Scholarship for Research. My research focuses on the development of a novel biotechnological platform for removing micropollutants from water. I hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece (2017), and I have valuable research experience mainly on integrated water resources management and wastewater treatment and reuse.

This semester I’m taking MAS.863, also known as How to Make (Almost) Anything, to improve my digital fabrication skills and be able to apply them in order to develop solutions that can contribute to address water crisis.
