Sam Laney

Howdy, my Name is Sam! I am a second year graduate student in EECS conducting research in cybersecurity and AI. Outside of coursework and research, I love to play tennis and golf, garden, and explore the world of analog photography. I grew up in Texas, went to college in Maryland, and will head back to the DMV upon graduating. I learned to make from my dad (a mechanical engineer) and brother (a true jack of all trades - animator, SFX, attorney), and growing up I tinkered with many things, but mostly modified and created homemade nerf blasters. I have been out of the maker space for a few years, but I am stoked to be creative, learn new techniques, and combine my newer programming abilities with my older maker spirit.
