Final Project Sketch
I was inspired by an image (above)) illustrating the wheel layout from the book “Reinventing the Automobile” and various mobility projects from the City Science group. I conceived an idea that seamlessly merges micromobility (last mile) with nano-mobility (last meter to your doorstep). This transformative/assembly scooter not only serves as a practical mode of transportation but also revolutionizes last-mile delivery logistics.
I proposed two possible ways of combining and transforming the space between scooters and an extended platform design, serving as both a platform and an attachment to other scooters.
The assembly mode of this platform allows for the efficient transportation of multiple boxes in a single trip, while its disassembly mode empowers the scooter to deliver goods individually to houses within the neighborhood. What sets this concept apart is its dual-purpose functionality, as it can also be utilized as a shared mobility service. Furthermore, its compact and agile design ensures it won’t contribute to road congestion.
